Clinical Services

Nevada Children's Center offers the following rehabilitative mental health (RMH) interventions in accordance with the Nevada Medicaid Services Manual (MSM), Chapter 400:

Respite Care

Respite services are offered via a nominal cash-pay program.  Respite services are short-term, out-patient services in a facility outside of the home.  Respite provides a time-limited break for families and children experiencing mental health, behavioral health, and/or developmental delays.  These services are provided by trained behavioral aides.

Individual and Family Therapy

Through a combination of psychoanalysis and cognitive-behavioral therapy, individuals and families are able to overcome a variety of thoughts and behaviors.  Our therapists utilize methods that include play-therapy with our young clients.
 
Individual and Family therapy sessions are performed by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and/or Marriage and Family Therapist-Intern (MFT-I).

 

Group Therapy

Through a combination of psychoanalysis and cognitive-behavioral therapy, individuals and families are able to overcome a variety of thoughts and behaviors.  Our therapists utilize methods that include mindfulness, art, social skills, and anger management.
 
Group therapy sessions are performed by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and/or Marriage and Family Therapist-Intern (MFT-I).

Basic Skills Training (BST)

BST services include teaching children and their family basic living skills, self-care skills, social skills, communication skills, organization and time management skills and transitional living skills.  BST services are one-on-one, community based services that can take place in schools, homes, libraries, parks, and other community settings.  These service is provided by a Qualified Behavioral Aide (QBA) or Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA).

Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PSR)

PSR services include teaching behavior management, social competency, problem identification and resolution, effective communication, moral reasoning, identity and emotional intimacy, self-sufficiency, life goals, and sense of humor.  PSR services are one-on-one, community based services that can take place in schools, homes, libraries, parks, and other community settings.  This type of service is provided by a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA).
